Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a shankh and a kalash in puja?
A shankh (conch shell) is blown as a musical instrument at the start and end of aarti — its sound is believed to purify the environment and call the deity's presence. A kalash (sacred pot) is a ritual vessel representing the cosmos and abundance; it is placed as a witness to ceremonies and used in abhishek (ritual bathing of idols). Both are essential pooja accessories; the shankh is an active ritual object while the kalash is primarily ceremonial.
Where should Lakshmi Charan be placed at home?
Lakshmi Charan (Goddess Lakshmi's footprints) are traditionally placed at the entrance of the home, facing inward — symbolising the goddess entering your home and bringing prosperity with her. They are also placed in the pooja room or treasury space (where cash and valuables are kept). Placement is done during Diwali and griha pravesh ceremonies. The footprints should never face outward (that would symbolise the goddess leaving). Our silver-plated Lakshmi Charan is particularly suited to entrance decor and griha pravesh gifting.
Are silver-plated pooja items better than brass for daily worship?
Both materials are considered auspicious in Indian tradition. Silver is associated with purity, the moon, and Goddess Lakshmi — making silver-plated items particularly suitable for Lakshmi puja and prosperity rituals. Brass is associated with the sun and is traditional for bell-metal items. For daily puja, silver-plated items offer the visual quality of temple silverware at a fraction of the cost of solid silver. Our pieces are pure silver plating over a resin core, which is lightweight, easy to maintain, and tarnish-resistant compared to solid metals.
Which pooja essentials are essential for a new home mandir setup?
A well-appointed home mandir needs: a primary deity idol (Ganesha or Vishnu-Lakshmi for most households), a diya for daily aarti, a shankh, and a kalash. From our collection, the Throne Ganesha (₹1,499) or Ganesha Shankh (₹1,999) as the presiding deity piece, our Lotus Diya Set (₹1,999) for daily aarti, and the Silver Plated Kalash Khazana 2.5" (₹1,249) as a compact ceremonial vessel covers the essentials. The Lakshmi Charan (₹1,499) makes an excellent addition for the mandir entrance.
Can pooja accessories be gifted, and which are most appropriate?
Yes — pooja accessories are among the most auspicious and appropriate gifting choices for housewarmings (griha pravesh), Diwali, weddings, and Navratri. The Ganesha Shankh Gold & Silver-Plated (₹1,999) is one of our most gifted items — it fits within most gifting budgets and is received warmly by devout households. For griha pravesh, the Lakshmi Charan (₹1,499) or a kalash set is traditional. For premium gifting, the Radha Krishna Idol Set (₹5,999) or Ram Darbar (₹7,999) are statement pieces. All items ship in gift-ready packaging.
